Pakistan to Host Inaugural International Capital Market Conference & Expo in 2025

Karachi: The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has announced plans to host the first-ever International Capital Market Conference & Expo in 2025. The event, organized in collaboration with the Capital Market Infrastructure Institutions (CMIIs), is set to bring together a wide array of regional and global stakeholders to discuss and enhance cooperation and innovation within capital markets.

This pioneering conference will attract capital market regulators, policymakers, and market infrastructure institutions from countries such as Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, China, Iran, and the United States. It will also feature multilateral institutions and key stakeholders from Pakistan’s financial landscape.

The SECP, along with the Pakistan Stock Exchange, National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited, Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited, and Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, has engaged in multiple strategic discussions with counterpart regulators and market institutions throughout Asia over the past year. The conference is seen as the culmination of these efforts, offering a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and shared learning to advance regional capital markets.

The event will emphasize Pakistan’s dedication to regional financial integration, showcasing the SECP’s role in fostering a cooperative market environment. Designed as a strategic platform, the conference aims to boost cooperation and investment, facilitating the exchange of regulatory insights and best practices for developing transparent and inclusive capital markets.

An Expo will run concurrently with the conference, featuring participants from asset management companies, brokerage firms, insurance providers, technology companies, and banks. The Expo intends to raise awareness about the financial products available in Pakistan and promote investor education. It will provide a platform for institutions to present their offerings, highlighting the growing financial ecosystem in Pakistan.

The conference aims to encourage foreign investment, bilateral cooperation, and knowledge-sharing partnerships by directly engaging regional regulators and capital market institutions. The event is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s capital market ecosystem and foster international collaboration.

The International Capital Market Conference & Expo 2025 is seen as a significant step towards more integrated capital markets, supporting Pakistan’s commitment to regulatory reforms and financial stability.
