Pakistan to Train 1,000 Farming Experts in China to Boost Agriculture

Islamabad: In a significant move to advance Pakistan’s agricultural sector, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal announced that 1,000 farming experts will be sent to China for specialized training. This initiative, directed by the Prime Minister, aims to enhance agricultural productivity and modernize farming practices in Pakistan.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the announcement was made during a meeting in Islamabad, which also included Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain. The government has allocated eleven million dollars to fund the training program, emphasizing its commitment to fostering a green revolution in the country.

Minister Iqbal highlighted the urgency of this initiative, noting that Pakistan currently imports agricultural products worth approximately ten billion dollars annually due to low yield per acre. He stressed that agriculture is a critical component of national development and enhancing expertise in this sector is a priority.

Minister Hussain added that the trained experts are expected to play a crucial role in transitioning from traditional to modern agricultural methods upon their return, potentially transforming the agricultural landscape of Pakistan.
