Pakistan, UAE Commit to Streamlining Visa Processes to Boost Economic Ties

Islamabad: Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates have agreed to enhance their visa processes to facilitate economic growth and strengthen people-to-people connections. The commitment was made during a meeting between Pakistan’s Acting President Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the discussion focused on making visa acquisition more efficient and increasing flight frequencies to bolster economic cooperation. Ambassador Al-Zaabi highlighted the positive trajectory of bilateral relations, noting the UAE’s encouragement of its companies to invest in Pakistan’s communications, climate change, and renewable energy sectors.

The meeting also addressed ongoing visa challenges faced by Pakistanis. Acting President Gilani emphasized the importance of deepening collaboration in information technology, renewable energy, agriculture, and tourism. He further informed the ambassador about Pakistan’s consistent support for the Palestinian cause, as reiterated at the recent All Parties Conference.
