Islamabad: Pakistan and the United Kingdom have reaffirmed their commitment to deepen their development partnership and accelerate economic reforms. This development was announced following a meeting between Pakistan’s Minister for Economic Affairs, Ahad Cheema, and the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Development Director, Sam Waldock, held in Islamabad.
According to Radio Pakistan, Ahad Cheema acknowledged the valuable support provided by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) for the Strategic Initiatives Unit. This support is aimed at strengthening policy implementation through embedded delivery mechanisms. Cheema also recognized the FCDO’s assistance to the Governance Reforms Unit, which is pivotal in advancing institutional reforms in Pakistan.
Sam Waldock, representing the United Kingdom, reaffirmed the UK’s continued commitment to supporting Pakistan’s development priorities. This support will be channeled through ongoing collaboration in key sectors that are crucial for Pakistan’s economic growth and development.
