Islamabad: Pakistan has officially called for the de-escalation of hostilities in the Middle East, highlighting recent actions by Israel as violations of international norms that have exacerbated regional tensions and humanitarian crises.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch issued a statement expressing Pakistan’s deep concerns over the situation in the Middle East. The spokesperson criticized Israel’s actions, including the invasion of Lebanon and ongoing issues in Gaza, which she noted have intensified regional tensions and inflicted suffering on innocent civilians.
Baloch emphasized that the people of Palestine, Lebanon, and the broader region have the right to live without fear and violence. She reiterated Pakistan’s stance calling for the United Nations Security Council to take active measures to ensure peace and security in the region, protect Lebanon’s sovereignty, and address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Pakistan’s call aims to encourage international cooperation to resolve these longstanding conflicts through dialogue and adherence to international laws, promoting stability and peace across the Middle East.
