Pakistan welcomes adoption of UNSC resolution demanding ceasefire in Gaza

Pakistan has welcomed the adoption of the UN Security Council resolution, demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza for the holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said Pakistan also welcomes the Security Council’s call for allowing free flow of humanitarian assistance to Gaza and lifting of all barriers to provision of humanitarian assistance.

Mumtaz Zahra Baloch called for expeditious implementation of the Security Council resolution and hoped that it will serve as a first step towards ending Israel’s brutal onslaught and ensure a permanent ceasefire.

Meanwhile, Minister for Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar has also welcomed the United Nations Security Council resolution calling for immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

In a post on X, he urged urgent implementation of the resolution and hoped the Palestinian people will have much needed respite after months of bloodshed and massacre of over 30,000 innocent civilians.
