New york: Pakistan has hailed President Donald Trump’s peace initiative aimed at advancing peace in the Middle East through concrete measures in collaboration with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Arab nations.
According to Radio Pakistan, during a UN Security Council briefing on the Middle East and the implementation of Resolution 2334, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with the Palestinian people. He emphasized the need for launching a credible and irreversible political process to establish a sovereign Palestinian state, based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds and Al-Sharif as its capital.
The initiative seeks to engage key stakeholders in the region to foster peace and stability, focusing on long-term solutions that address the core issues at the heart of the conflict. Ambassador Ahmad’s remarks underscore Pakistan’s commitment to supporting efforts that aim to bring lasting peace to the region.
