Pakistani Embassy in Riyadh holds reception on 24 March to celebrate Pakistan Day

Islamabad, March 25, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Embassy of Pakistan in Riyadh held a grand reception on 24 March at Tuwaiq Palace in Diplomatic Quarter to celebrate the 73rd National Day of Pakistan. The Chief Guest on the occasion, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region and His Excellency, Ambassador Muhammad Naeem Khan cut a cake on the occasion.

The event was attended by a large number of Saudi officials, businessmen and prominent citizens, Heads of Missions and other diplomats, and prominent members of Pakistani expatriate community, says a press release received here today from Riyadh.

The reception was part of a series of events the Embassy of Pakistan is holding in connection with its National Day celebrations. On 23rd March, the flag hoisting ceremony was held in the Embassy premises. The Ambassador of Pakistan Muhammad Naeem Khan hoisted the flag in the presence of Embassy officials as well as hundreds of community members. Messages from the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out on the occasion.

The Dirab Golf Club, the premier golf club in the capital, also organized the 6th Pakistan Day Golf Tournament prize distribution ceremony on 22nd March. Ambassador Muhammad Naeem Khan was the chief guest at the ceremony. He made a brief speech on golf in Pakistan and also distributed prizes among the winning golfers. More than a hundred players competed in the Tournament.

The Embassy is also holding a live performance by the renowned folk singer of Pakistan Arif Lohar at 7 pm on Thursday, 28 March 2013 at King Fahd Culture Centre, off Prince Faisal bin Fahd road in Riyadh. A large crowd is expected at the event.
