Pakistani, US officials discuss ways to enhance bilateral trade & investment

Officials of the United States and Pakistan held an inter-sessional meeting under the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA).

In a statement, US Mission spokesperson Thomas Montgomery said a broad range of areas to improve bilateral trade and investment relationship came under discussion in the meeting.

He said engagements like the TIFA are key to moving forward on the shared goals of deepening the economic bilateral relationship.

The Spokesperson said more than eighty US companies currently operate in Pakistan and are supplying high quality goods to the Pakistani market.

He said the United States imported Pakistani goods worth five billion dollars, while overall US-Pakistan goods trade measured seven billion dollars.
