Pakistan’s Finance Minister Advocates for Climate-Driven Financial Reforms at V20 Dialogue

Washington DC: In a significant move at the V20 Ministerial Dialogue, Pakistan’s Finance Minister, Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb, highlighted the development of the nation’s Climate Prosperity Plan. He stressed the urgency of reforming global financial structures to better support climate goals, advocating for debt arrangements that benefit environmental sustainability.

According to Press Information Department, during his address, Mr. Aurangzeb called on Multilateral Development Banks to increase their grant offerings and concessional financing options to help countries combat climate change. He also supported the formal recognition of the V20 group by the International Monetary Fund, marking a step forward in integrating climate concerns within global financial policymaking.
