Pakistan’s UN Representative Munir Akram Meets UNGA President Philemon Yang

Islamabad: Ambassador Munir Akram, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, met with the newly appointed President of the UN General Assembly, Philemon Yang, in New York to discuss the agenda of the upcoming 79th session.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during the meeting, Ambassador Akram congratulated President Yang on his new role and expressed Pakistan’s readiness to support his presidency. Akram commended Yang’s commitment to focusing on sustainable economic growth, peace, security, and human dignity, which he noted are central to the UN Charter.

He also expressed optimism that the United Nations would effectively tackle global challenges under Yang’s experienced leadership. The discussions included the detailed agenda for the 79th session of the General Assembly, which Yang appreciated, thanking Ambassador Akram for his congratulations and support.
