Parents of Slain Doctor Accuse Kolkata Police of Evidence Tampering

Kolkata: The parents of a young female doctor, who was tragically raped and murdered at a hospital in Kolkata, have accused local police of tampering with evidence and showing bias in handling the case. The allegations have sparked protests and calls for justice, amplifying the outcry over the handling of the case.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the parents expressed their frustrations with the lack of support from the authorities since the incident occurred. They claimed that the police showed negligence and possibly would have closed the case if it weren’t for the strike by doctors and the mounting pressure from social media campaigns. The parents alleged that the police tried to pressure them into withdrawing the case, even going as far as offering them money.

During a protest, the victim’s mother made a heartfelt plea, emphasizing that their fight was not only for their daughter but also for the rights and safety of all girls in the country. She encouraged the public to continue supporting their protests to ensure that justice is achieved.

The victim’s father also spoke out, urging citizens to join the protests in large numbers. He highlighted the difficulty of achieving justice but reassured the public that it was possible with their support.

The serious accusations against the Kolkata police have led to increased public scrutiny and demands for an impartial investigation into the handling of the case.
