Parliamentary Committee On Electoral Reforms Met Today

Islamabad, July 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): The National Assembly Parliamentary Committee on Electoral Reforms met today at 03:00 p.m. in Constitution Room, 2nd Floor, Parliament House, Islamabad for Election of the Chairman of Parliamentary Committee.

2. The meeting commenced with recitation from the Holy Quran. S. M. Jawad Murtaza Naqvi, Additional Secretary (Parliamentary Committees) welcomed the members and briefed them about the procedure for election of the Chairperson.

3. Senator Kamran Murtaza proposed the name of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, MNA, as Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Electoral Reforms while Syed Naveed Qamar, MNA, Senator Taj Haider and other members seconded the proposal. Since there was no other candidate for contesting election of the Chairman, consequently, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, MNA was unanimously elected as Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Electoral Reforms.

4. The meeting was attended by Syed Naveed Qamar, MNA, Ms. Kishwar Zehra, MNA, Dr. Muhammad Afzal Khan Dhandla, MNA, Mr. Agha Hassan Baloch, MNA, Senator Taj Haider, Senator Kamran Murtaza, Senator Manzoor Ahmed and Senator Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, Minister for Law and Justice.
