Parliamentary Secretary for Commerce Visits IPO-Pakistan to Discuss Intellectual Property Initiatives

Islamabad: The Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan (IPO-Pakistan) hosted a visit from the Parliamentary Secretary for Commerce, Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti, at its headquarters on Wednesday. The visit served as an opportunity for IPO-Pakistan to present its functions, initiatives, and achievements to the Parliamentary Secretary.

According to Press Information Department, Dr. Bhatti was given a comprehensive briefing by Chairperson Ambassador (R) Farukh Amil and Director General Ms. Shazia Adnan. The presentation detailed IPO-Pakistan’s role in promoting intellectual property rights, including trademarks, patents, copyrights, and geographical indications. The organization’s efforts in raising awareness, providing training, and facilitating the registration of intellectual property were also highlighted.

Dr. Bhatti acknowledged the organization’s contributions towards fostering a supportive environment for innovation and entrepreneurship in Pakistan. He emphasized the significance of intellectual property protection in driving economic growth and development. The visit underscored IPO-Pakistan’s commitment to supporting micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises and startups, which are viewed as vital components of the country’s economic strategy.
