PCMEA Commends TDAP’s Initiative for International Carpet Event

Lahore: The Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA) has expressed appreciation for the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) following its approval of a hospitality package for the 41st International Handmade Carpet Exhibition scheduled for October. This initiative is intended to attract foreign buyers to Pakistan.

The Association emphasized that the package was formulated after thorough consultations, aiming to maximize foreign participation. Buyers from countries such as Germany, China, the United States, and the United Kingdom have shown significant interest in the event, reflecting a positive outlook for Pakistan’s handmade carpet industry.

PCMEA Chairman Mian Atiq-ur-Rehman and Exhibition Chairman Riaz Ahmed made these remarks during an Association meeting. The session included key figures like Patron-in-Chief Abdul Latif Malik and Chairperson Ejaz-ur-Rehman, among others.

Strategies to ensure the exhibition’s success were discussed, including inviting prominent officials for the event’s inauguration. A special dinner at the Governor’s House is also planned to honor participants.

Chairmen Atiq-ur-Rehman and Ahmed noted that a competitor country plans a similar event, making it essential for Pakistan to excel. They are confident in government support, highlighting potential trade contracts as a boost for the industry.

The exhibition will feature Business-to-Business meetings, fostering direct networking and strengthening trade relationships. PCMEA leaders affirmed their dedication to attracting foreign buyers and acknowledged TDAP’s cooperation.

The meeting reviewed proposals on exhibitor registration, artistic showcases, and logistical preparations for the event.
