Peace and stability is top most priority of government: President

Islamabad, February 03, 2014 (PPI-OT): Special Assistant to Prime Minister on National Affairs and Coordinator of peace dialogue committee, Irfan Siddique called on President Mamnoon Hussain at the Aiwan-e-Sadr today. Matters pertaining to peace talks were discussed during the meeting.

The President said that as member of peace dialogue committee, the government has entrusted Irfan Siddique with an assignment of great national importance and expressed hope that Dialogue with Talibans would start soon as the entire nation was looking towards holding of successful and meaningful dialogues to ensure lasting peace and security in the country

The President said that peace and stability is the top most priority of the government and every possible effort would be taken to restore peace and normalcy in the country. The socio- economic development of the country and the progress and prosperity of the people of Pakistan is directly linked to the peace and security in all parts of the country, the President remarked.

The President expressed confidence that the serious efforts of Peace Dialogue Committee would prove instrumental in establishing enduring peace and security in the county.

Mr. Irfan Siddique thanked the President for meeting and assured that the Committee would work with full dedication and commitment to hold result- oriented talks aimed at establishing durable peace in the country.

The President on the occasion also condoled with Irfan Siddique, the death of his brother-in-law, Mr. Asif Jameel and offered fateha for the departed soul.
