Lahore: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed a firm resolve and assured entrepreneurs that the government is fully committed to creating a dynamic, business-friendly environment where micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) can thrive and play a crucial role in Pakistan’s sustainable development.

According to Radio Pakistan, in his message on the occasion of International Day of Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, which is being observed today, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the need for targeted support for entrepreneurs. This includes easier access to finance, the adoption of innovative technologies, and stronger market linkages to support the growth of these enterprises.

The Prime Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to integrating enterprising individuals into the broader manufacturing and productivity cycle of the economy. As part of these efforts, he announced that the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) is being restructured to enhance its effectiveness.

A significant milestone in this direction, according to the Prime Minister, is the establishment of a 30 billion rupees Development Fund over five years.
