Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has extended an invitation to the UAE’s telecommunications giant, Etisalat Group, encouraging them to expand their investment portfolio across various sectors of Pakistan’s economy. This invitation was extended during a meeting in Islamabad with a five-member delegation from Etisalat, led by CEO Hatem Dowidar.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment for foreign investors. He assured the Etisalat Group of comprehensive support and facilities to facilitate their investments in the country. Highlighting the longstanding cultural and religious ties between the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif noted the ongoing investment endeavors by several Emirati companies within the Pakistani economy.
During the meeting, Etisalat Group’s CEO, Hatem Dowidar, acknowledged the Prime Minister’s efforts in creating a favorable business climate for international companies in Pakistan. Dowidar expressed the company’s interest in expanding its business footprint, building on its 19 years of successful investment in the country. He highlighted the contribution of over ten thousand Pakistani employees in Etisalat’s operations and reiterated the company’s commitment to pursuing long-term and successful investments in Pakistan.
