From Karachi to Gaza: Pakistani Startup Ships Prosthetics to Child War Survivors

Gaza: Eight-year-old Sidra Al Bordeeni, a Gaza war survivor, rode a bicycle for the first time in a year after receiving a 3D-printed prosthetic arm built in Karachi by Pakistani startup Bioniks. Injured in an Israeli missile strike, Sidra’s new limb was fitted through remote consultations and delivered to a Jordanian refugee camp.

According to Radio Pakistan, the affordable, child-friendly prosthetics offer hope to Gaza’s thousands of young amputees. Bioniks aims to expand globally, providing limbs to children in other conflict zones. Sidra Al Bordeeni now hopes of hugging her father who is still trapped in Gaza, with both arms.
