Dubai: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif lauded the role of DP World in enhancing Pakistan’s trade during a meeting with the company’s Group Chairman and CEO, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, on the sidelines of the World Government Summit in Dubai. The Prime Minister highlighted the positive outcomes of DP World’s recent visit to Pakistan, emphasizing the strengthened investment collaboration between the two nations.
According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister expressed that these collaborations would further enhance trade relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. He also reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to swiftly executing Intergovernmental Agreements with DP World.
The Prime Minister informed that Pakistan has improved its investment procedures through the Special Investment Facilitation Council, making the business environment more accommodating for international investors. He acknowledged DP World’s strategic business approach and its potential for expanding operations in Pakistan, leveraging the country’s advantageous location.
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for ongoing support and reaffirmed DP World’s commitment to timely project completion and exploring new cooperation opportunities. He also discussed a dedicated exhibition hall to promote Pakistani products in the UAE, aiming to boost their market visibility.
Prime Minister Sharif welcomed DP World’s initiative, underscoring the potential for increased access to UAE markets for Pakistani goods.
