Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has conferred the honorary fellowship of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP) in the field of Cardiac Surgery to the President of Iran, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, in a ceremony held in Islamabad today.
According to Radio Pakistan, the fellowship was awarded in recognition of Dr. Pezeshkian’s contributions to public health, medical education, medical research, and his dedicated service to society. This honorary fellowship aims to enhance cooperation between Pakistan and Iran in the medical field, particularly fostering stronger ties between the medical colleges of both nations.
The conferment is expected to promote collaboration in medical education, facilitate institutional academic exchanges, and encourage medical research. Additionally, it will aid in the exchange of faculty members and examiners between the two countries. Notably, the Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, was also present at the ceremony, underscoring the significance of this occasion in bolstering bilateral relations.
