Police Chief Orders Swift Action After Fatal Shooting in Kharian

Kharian: The Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has ordered an immediate investigation following a fatal shooting incident in Kharian, Gujrat, which resulted in the deaths of two individuals. The top police official has directed the formation of a special team to apprehend those responsible for the shooting.

According to Punjab Police announcement issued on 24 September 2024, Dr. Usman Anwar has demanded a detailed report from the Regional Police Officer (RPO) of Gujranwala concerning the incident that occurred when the victims were reportedly shot by opponents. In addition, the District Police Officer (DPO) of Gujrat has been instructed to assemble a special team tasked with the rapid arrest of the accused.

Dr. Anwar emphasized the urgency of bringing the suspects to justice and ensuring that they receive the appropriate legal penalties. He also highlighted the importance of providing justice to the families of the victims, stressing that it should be treated as a priority.
