Polling in Second Phase of AJK Elections Completed Peacefully

Islamabad: Counting of votes is underway after the completion of the polling process for the second phase of AJK Legislative Assembly elections in Muzaffarabad Division and on refugee seats.

According to Radio Pakistan, polling was held peacefully in eight out of the nine electoral constituencies of Muzaffarabad Division, except for LA-27 Muzaffarabad-I, where polling was postponed due to heavy rainfall and landslides. Officials have announced that polling in LA-27 Muzaffarabad-I will now be held on Tuesday.

Polling proceeded as scheduled in all other constituencies of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Voting has also started on time in the twelve constituencies reserved for Kashmiri refugees residing in Pakistan.

No untoward incident has been reported from any polling station, reflecting the peaceful conduct of the electoral process.
