Power Minister sets two-week deadline to curb Power pilferage

Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari has set the deadline of 23rd of this month to curb all forms of power pilferage in the country.

In a letter addressed to the CEOs and Chairmen of all DISCOs, he directed to take immediate and strict measures to end electricity theft.

The Minister said the laws will be amended to punish the officials involved in electricity theft so that no electricity thief can escape the punishment. He reaffirmed the government’s determination to curb electricity pilferage.
