President Approves Summary to Cancel 23rd March Pakistan Day Parade

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has approved a summary to cancel the Pakistan Day parade and related events on 23rd March 2026, in view of the Gulf oil crisis and austerity measures, on the advice of the Prime Minister.

According to Radio Pakistan, the decision was made considering the ongoing Gulf oil crisis, which has prompted the government to implement austerity measures. As part of these measures, the traditional parade and celebrations associated with Pakistan Day have been called off this year.

The Investiture Ceremony, which is typically part of the Pakistan Day events, has been rescheduled for the 28th of next month. This adjustment aims to ensure that the recognition of national achievements and contributions still takes place, albeit at a later date.
