President Macron Praises Pakistan’s Mediation in Iran-US Negotiations

Paris: French President Emmanuel Macron today called Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and congratulated him on Pakistan’s successful mediation efforts that led to a ceasefire between Iran and the United States. This pivotal diplomatic achievement marks a significant step towards easing tensions in the region.

According to Radio Pakistan, during their cordial conversation, President Macron acknowledged Pakistan’s instrumental role in facilitating dialogue between the two nations. He conveyed his best wishes to Prime Minister Sharif for the success of the forthcoming peace talks scheduled to take place in Islamabad.

In response, Prime Minister Sharif expressed gratitude to President Macron for his support of Pakistan’s diplomatic endeavors. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to pursuing peace and stability in the region, highlighting the importance of continued efforts in this regard.

Additionally, both leaders expressed grave concern over the ongoing aggression in Lebanon. They underscored the urgent need to halt the violence and restore peace across the region. President Macron and Prime Minister Sharif agreed to maintain contact as part of their collaborative efforts to address these pressing issues.
