President, PM Appeal to Highlight True Message of Ashura, Promote Harmony

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have appealed to the entire nation, especially religious scholars, media, and the youth, to highlight the true message of Ashura and promote inter-sectarian respect and harmony.

According to Radio Pakistan, President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized that the incident of Karbala is not merely a historical tragedy but an eternal message and a living source of guidance. He urged the nation to embrace the teachings of Ashura to foster unity and understanding among different sects.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his message, described Ashura as a thought-provoking day in Islamic history, offering unparalleled lessons of faith, patience, perseverance, and selflessness. He highlighted the conduct of Hazrat Imam Hussain Razi Allah ho Ta’ala Anho, who demonstrated that sacrificing life for the protection of truth, justice, and human dignity is superior to submitting to oppression, injustice, and falsehood.
