President, PM Direct Urgent Aid for Flood Affectees

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have directed the provision of every possible assistance and rehabilitation facilities to flood affectees in the country. In their separate statements, they instructed relevant departments to accelerate relief activities in the affected areas.

According to Radio Pakistan, both leaders expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives due to rains and floods in various parts of the country. The Prime Minister instructed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to maintain constant contact with provinces and relevant departments, ensuring they receive all necessary support.

Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that immediate relief must be delivered to the affected people, with all preparations in place to handle any potential situation in the coming days. Furthermore, the Prime Minister directed the National Highway Authority and the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) to expedite the restoration of highways and connecting roads affected by floods.
