President Zardari Congratulates Bhutan on Its National Day

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has extended warm felicitations to the government and people of Bhutan on their National Day today (Wednesday): In a message, he said this day marks the historic coronation of Gongsar Ugyen Wangchuck, laying the foundations of a unified and modern Bhutan under the Wangchuck monarchy.

According to Radio Pakistan, the President emphasized that the day is also an opportunity to honor the contribution of Bhutan’s successive monarchs in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and nurturing its unique cultural identity. He expressed Pakistan’s eagerness to collaborate with Bhutan to enhance cooperation in education, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges for the peace and prosperity of the region.
