Prime Minister instructs Chief Minister Balochistan to immediately return to Pakistan

Islamabad, January 12, 2013 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has instructed the Chief Minister Balochistan, Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani to immediately reach back to Pakistan.

The Prime Minister issued the instruction in a meeting with Federal Minister for Interior, Mr. Rahman Malik who called on him at the PM’s House this morning to apprise him about the latest situation in Quetta in the backdrop of Thursday’s bomb blasts.

The Prime Minister on the request of Balochistan Government, ordered the Frontier Corps (FC) to extend assistance to the Civil Administration in the maintenance of Law and order. The FC will exercise all powers of police for the purpose.

The Prime Minister also announced Rs. One million for the family of each Shaheed and Rs. One Lakh for every injured.

The Prime Minister ordered immediate dispatch of Pakistan Air Force’s C-130 to shift the injured of Quetta Blasts to Karachi for their best medical treatment.

The Prime Minister further directed the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Mr. Qamar Zaman Kaira to rush to Quetta to monitor and review the situation.

The Prime Minister will meet a Hazara delegation from Quetta during the next week to learn their grievances and address these.

The Prime Minister also asked the Governor Balochistan and Chief Secretary Balochistan to keep him abreast of the latest situation on regular basis. The Prime Minister is in constant contact with all relevant authorities and monitoring the situation himself.

Reiterating firm resolve to take all measures to safeguard the lives and property of the citizens, the Prime Minister directed the Provincial Government of Balochistan to leave no stone unturned in this regard. He assured all possible support of the Federal Government in this connection.

The Prime Minister also asked the Provincial and Federal law enforcement agencies to work in coordination under the provincial government as and when required.

Earlier the Prime Minister spoke to Governor Balochistan, Nawab Zulfiqar Magsi who briefed him in detail about the latest situation in Quetta.
