Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to utilizing nuclear technology for sustainable development. During discussions with Rafael Mariano, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in Islamabad on Wednesday, Sharif emphasized the importance of nuclear energy in addressing climate change challenges.
According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister praised the IAEA’s efforts in promoting nuclear energy as a viable solution for climate issues. He highlighted Pakistan’s longstanding partnership with the IAEA, noting its status as one of the Agency’s founding members.
Shehbaz Sharif detailed Pakistan’s advancements in nuclear power generation, industrial development, healthcare, and agriculture, attributing these achievements to the collaborative efforts with the IAEA. These initiatives have significantly contributed to the country’s socio-economic growth.
