Paris, July 14, 2023 (PPI-OT): People staged a protest demonstration in Paris against the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s visit to France. The protesters were holding posters reading slogans like “Free Kashmir – Stop whitewashing India’s settler colonial project”, “Modi you are not welcome in Paris”, “Not Today Mr. Modi! Bastille Day is the day of freedom”, “No to Modi’s extreme right agenda”, “No red carpet for enemy of human rights” and “Stop discrimination against Muslims and Christians”.
A mascot of Narendra Modi was holding a placard reading “I destroy democracy”. The protest demonstration was held when Narendra Modi was attending July 14 military parade of France to mark Bastille Day. France celebrates the storming of the Bastille fortress, as the victory of the people and their emancipation, freedom, equality and fraternity.
