Punjab CM Approves Construction of 800 Mini Dams in Pothohar

Islamabad: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved the construction of 800 mini dams aimed at conserving rainwater in the Pothohar region. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance water management and agricultural transformation across the province.

According to Radio Pakistan, during a meeting focused on agriculture transformation and water management, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz reviewed the ongoing progress in water conservation and groundwater management. She emphasized the importance of a coordinated approach and directed the departments of Agriculture, Irrigation, Housing, and Local Government to collaborate under a unified “One Window Water Security” framework. This strategy is expected to streamline efforts and ensure efficient utilization of resources in order to address water scarcity issues in the region.
