Punjab CM Directs All-Out Preparedness for Monsoon Emergencies

Islamabad: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed all relevant departments to utilize all available resources to tackle urban flooding, hill torrents, and other flood-related emergencies during the ongoing monsoon season.

According to Radio Pakistan, while chairing a meeting in Lahore today, she instructed the authorities to ensure prompt action on complaints received through the WASA helpline and maintain a comprehensive record of their resolution. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of quick response to prevent any untoward incidents during the monsoon period.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif also directed the authorities to strictly enforce a ban on bathing in rivers, dams, and barrages. To further prevent incidents, she ordered drone monitoring of these areas. The measures are part of a broader strategy to safeguard lives and property during the monsoon season, highlighting the government’s proactive approach to disaster management.
