Salik Launches National Emigration and Welfare Policy 2026

Islamabad: Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain launched the National Emigration and Welfare Policy 2026 in Islamabad today. Speaking on the occasion, he described the policy as a significant milestone in strengthening Pakistan’s governance related to labour migration.

According to Radio Pakistan, Chaudhry Salik Hussain emphasized that the policy represents a national commitment to every Pakistani who leaves home in pursuit of opportunity, aiming to build a better future while contributing to the nation’s prosperity. The policy is designed to equip individuals with relevant skills and provide them with the protection and support needed to compete in an evolving global market. The minister highlighted that the success of the policy will rely on close collaboration among various stakeholders, including federal and provincial governments.

The Federal Minister also mentioned that approximately twelve million Pakistanis are living and working across the globe, contributing around forty-one billion dollars in remittances during the last financial year.
