Punjab govt sets target for wheat sowing on 16.5m acres

The Punjab government has set a wheat cultivation target of 16.5 million acres in the province, and made sowing wheat compulsory on the government’s agricultural land.

Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman presided over a meeting in Lahore on Friday to review the target of the wheat cultivation.

The Secretary Agriculture gave a detailed briefing at the meeting. He said that the wheat sowing campaign would continue from November 1st to 30th and committees have been formed at the provincial, divisional, district and tehsil levels for monitoring.
