Punjab Higher Education Department Announces Closure of Colleges and Universities on Youm-e-Takbeer

Lahore, The Punjab Higher Education Department has declared that all public and private sector colleges and universities in Punjab will be closed on May 28, 2024, in observance of Youm-e-Takbeer. This decision aligns with directives from both the Cabinet Division of the Government of Pakistan and the S and GAD of the Punjab Government.

According to Higher Education Department – Government of The Punjab, the closure is part of a broader observance of Youm-e-Takbeer, a day commemorating Pakistan’s nuclear tests conducted in 1998. The department also announced the cancellation of all practical examinations of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISES) scheduled for the same day. A new schedule for these examinations will be issued subsequently.

The notification has been circulated among all vice chancellors and chairmen of BISES throughout Punjab, as well as directors of public instructions and education in colleges, ensuring wide dissemination of the information and compliance with the closure.
