Punjab Launches Largest Higher Education Internship Program, Overseen by Chief Minister

Lahore: In a landmark move under the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the province has completed its largest higher education internship initiative, resulting in the recruitment of 7,354 college teacher interns across government colleges.

According to Chief Minister of Punjab, the Higher Education Internship Program was evaluated in a meeting led by Maryam Nawaz Sharif. During the meeting, Secretary of Higher Education Dr. Farrukh Naveed outlined that the college teacher interns will receive a monthly stipend of 50,000 rupees for a period of eight months. These interns will provide teaching services in government colleges until the end of the academic session on March 31. Chief Minister Sharif commended the higher education team for their transparent and merit-based recruitment process.

Additionally, the briefing revealed that the transfer and posting of 962 college teachers have been executed through an e-transfer policy, allowing college teachers to apply online from their homes. The appointments of principals and directors in government colleges will also adhere to transparent procedures.
