Punjab PDWP Greenlights Major Welfare and Healthcare Schemes Worth Rs 3366.896 Million

Lahore: In a pivotal development, the Punjab Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved two significant schemes aimed at enhancing social welfare and specialized healthcare services. The approval came during the 18th PDWP meeting for the fiscal year 2024-25, under the leadership of Chairman P and D Board, Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan, with a combined investment of Rs 3366.896 million.

According to Planning and Development Board – Punjab announcement issued on 16 August 2024, the meeting endorsed the ‘CM Himmat Card Programme for Persons with Disabilities’ with a budget of Rs 2,658.120 million. This initiative is designed to provide enhanced support and accessibility to disabled individuals across the province. Additionally, the ‘Establishment of Paeds Burn Centre at Children’s Hospital, Lahore’ was approved with an allocation of Rs 708.776 million, aiming to bolster pediatric burn care capabilities in the region.

The meeting saw the participation of Secretary P and D Board Dr. Asif Tufail, Chief Economist Mr. Masoud Anwar, along with other board members and senior representatives from relevant provincial departments. These projects reflect the government’s commitment to advancing public welfare and healthcare infrastructure, prioritizing vulnerable populations and critical medical needs.
