Punjab Police Honors 35th Anniversary of Gujrat Martyrs

Gujrat: In a solemn ceremony marking the 35th anniversary of the sacrifices made by seven police martyrs in Gujrat, Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar paid tribute to the fallen officers. The event reflects the commitment of the Punjab Police to remember and honor those who gave their lives in the line of duty.

According to a statement by Punjab Police, the Inspector General emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices made by the police force. On this day in 1990, one sub-inspector and six other officials of Punjab Police lost their lives while serving their duty. Dr. Anwar expressed that the Punjab Police salutes these “great sons” and acknowledges the enduring impact of their sacrifice.

The Inspector General highlighted that the Punjab Police stands as a guardian force, reinforced by over 1,650 martyrs. Dr. Anwar assured that the memory of the martyred police in Gujrat will remain vivid, and their sacrifices will be eternally honored. He further stated that each officer of the Punjab Police is committed to protecting the nation against threats and is dedicated to the welfare of the families left behind by the fallen officers.

As part of the commemoration, Dr. Anwar underscored that all possible measures are being taken to support and provide for the families of the police martyrs, ensuring their well-being as a priority for the force.
