Punjab Presents Balanced and People-Centric Budget: Ramesh Arora

Lahore: Punjab Minister for Minorities Ramesh Singh Arora has announced that the provincial Government has introduced a balanced and people-centric budget for the fiscal year 2026-27. In an interview with Radio Pakistan’s correspondent Qasim Bukhari, Arora highlighted the budget’s focus on public welfare and inclusive development, emphasizing the government’s commitment despite challenging global economic conditions.

According to Radio Pakistan, special emphasis has been placed on the health and education sectors, with budgetary allocations maintained. The budget also prioritizes the transport and social protection sectors. Arora stressed that the welfare of minorities remains a top priority for the Punjab Government, with several projects worth four billion rupees proposed under the CM Minority Development Programme during the fiscal year to enhance facilities and living standards for minority communities.

Arora also mentioned that five billion rupees have been earmarked for the restoration and conservation of religious places of worship. He praised Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan for his efforts in promoting the Digital Punjab and Digital Punjab Assembly initiatives. He noted that these digital transformation efforts would contribute to fostering a green and paperless culture.
