Punjab Youth Festival: University of Lahore wins drama festival

Lahore, March 09, 2014 (PPI-OT): Students from University of Lahore turned out to the bestperformers at the end of the Punjab Youth Drama Festival 2014 competitions held amongVarious Education Institutes of the city and Arts Councils Of The Province here.After observing the performance of all the participants in the Drama Festival, judges declaredUniversity of Lahore the winners of the activity.

Their play Kut Putli ko was adjudged theBest Play of the Competition and the performers were praised for their skills, achievements and vision in the field. Punjab University performers who put on display their skills in kiya main ghalat hon wereannounced as the second best while the performers of patras ke mazamain from KanairdCollege were given the third prize in the competition.

Meanwhile, the Competitors from all over the Provinces Arts Councils, Sargodha was over the top while Rawalpindi and Multan followed the path at number second and third positions. Later, Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, Provincial Minister for Excise, the chief guest of thecompetitions, gave prizes to the Winners.

Talking on the occasion, Mr. Minister said that youth of the province has shown top performance in all kinds of competitions of the Punjab Youth Festival 2014. There cannot be a better platform like this Festival for the youth to show their abilities and this platform has been provided to them by the Punjab Government, he maintained.

He further added that the Government will use all its resources for the youth to follow their dreams and decide a path to adopt. Director General Sports Punjab Mr. Usman Anwar said that the Sports Board will formulate more such events for the youth to horn their skills in all walks of life. The festival is not only the desire of the youth but also a stage for them to develop their skills in a standardised manner, headed.
