Qaim Ali Shah for early completion of urgent and immediate nature development schemes

Karachi, April 23, 2014 (PPI-OT): The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has directed the officers concerned for early completion of urgent and immediate nature development schemes which are being executed from block allocation of Rs. 8.6 billion under priority development schemes programme (PDSP) of ADP- 2013-2014.

This he directed while presiding over the meeting to review over the ongoing development works, releases and status of utilization of funds held at CM house Karachi today. The Advisor to CM Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Secretary Sindh Sajjad Saleem Hotiyana, ACS Development Wasim Ahmed, Secretary to CM Rai Sikandar, Secretary Finance Sohail Rajput, Director General monitoring and evolution P and D Syed Imitiaz Shah and other officer from lined departments attended the meeting.

The Chief Minister Sindh said that in addition to the provincial and district ADP there are some development schemes always demanded by the people on urgent basis as such Sindh Government had earmarked Rs. 8.6 billion to implement on these schemes with priority.

He said that since these schemes have been taken into hand with the theme of priority by keeping the urgent needs of the people, must be completed with same spirit and objectives. The Chief Minister Sindh said that though at present we are running in the last quarter of the budget, but we can accommodate more important and immediate nature of small size schemes to facilitate the people as per their demand.

He directed the officers to re-visit this PDS programme and implement it on broad spectrum basis and assured them for providing required funds. The ACS development Wasim Ahmed while briefing the meeting, said that total 677 important and urgent nature development schemes were under implementation on priority basis for which total earmarked amount of Rs. 8.6 billion has been released.

He said that he was optimistic that funds would be utilized within stipulated period. He said that he also to work out and identify further immediate nature development schemes as per requirement of the people and to include the same into ongoing development portfolio without any delay.
