Quetta Authorities Target 139 Illegal Housing Schemes in Regulatory Clampdown

Quetta: In a decisive move to address the proliferation of unauthorized housing developments, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Muhammad Waqar Kakar led a comprehensive meeting to strategize actions against 139 illegal housing schemes identified within the city. The session brought together officials from the Quetta Development Authority (QDA), the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), and Assistant Commissioners from all four sub-divisions of Quetta.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting focused on coordinating efforts among local authorities and the QDA to enforce regulations strictly. Actions planned include issuing notices to the owners of these illegal schemes in an initial phase of compliance enforcement. Additionally, FBR representatives provided detailed insights into registered and unregistered housing schemes, highlighting the urgency of the situation.

The authorities also decided to initiate an awareness campaign aimed at educating the public about the risks of investing in housing schemes that lack necessary approvals, such as the No Objection Certificate (NOC), thereby protecting potential homeowners from financial losses.
