Quetta IG Police Outlines Objectives and Challenges of Safe City Project

Quetta: IG Police Balochistan, Muazzam Jah Ansari, emphasized the goals of the Quetta Safe City project, focusing on enhancing security and surveillance infrastructure to protect the public and ensure law and order. The project utilizes modern technology to monitor and respond to citywide security situations effectively.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, “During a briefing on the project’s progress, issues such as frequent cuts to the feeding fiber caused by ongoing development in Quetta were discussed, affecting the operation of surveillance cameras at various points in the city. Project Director Safe City, Tariq Bizenjo, informed IG Ansari of the efforts to restore disrupted services swiftly.” IG Ansari instructed the team to expedite work on the project’s second phase, expand coverage in blind spots and high crime areas, and integrate artificial intelligence to enhance real-time monitoring capabilities. He highlighted the importance of rapid action to reactivate affected cameras and improve coordination among emergency services through the surveillance system.
