Islamabad: Balloting to send Radio Pakistan’s employees on Umrah was held at the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation Headquarters in Islamabad on Thursday. Director General Radio Pakistan Saeed Ahmed Shaikh was the chief guest on this occasion.
According to Radio Pakistan, the event was attended by Director News and Current Affairs Aman Ullah Sipra, Director Administration Muhammad Ijaz Khan, Director Finance Inam ul Haq, Director Engineering Aqil Khan, and Director Programme Musarrat Shahrukh. Eight fortunate employees were selected for the Umrah pilgrimage. The winners include Arshad Ali Kiyani, Naib Qasid, Neelum Javed, Lower Division Clerk, Noor Ahmed, Senior Broadcast Engineer, Muhammad Kaleemullaah Khan, Lower Division Clerk, Zaheer Ahmed, Junior Assistant, Muhammad Sajjad, Naib Qasid, Zulqarnain Haider, Broadcast Engineer, and Munawar Ali Solangi, Engineer Manager.
Over 1200 employees have voluntarily contributed from all Broadcasting Houses. The selected employees will perform Umrah this year. Congratulating all the winners, Director General Saeed Ahmed Shaikh urged the winners to pray for peace, progress, and prosperity of Pakistan and the Muslim Ummah during the Umrah. He advised the lucky winners to strictly adhere to Saudi Arabia’s laws and respect the local culture during their stay at the holy land.
The Director General stated that all expenses for the selected employees’ Umrah will be borne by the organization through an employees’ contributory scheme. The Radio employees have expressed deep appreciation and thanked the organization for this initiative.
