Rainfall and Temperature Patterns in Pakistan: A Weekly Overview

Islamabad: During the week of October 22nd to 31st, 2024, various regions of Pakistan experienced different weather patterns, with rainfall recorded in areas such as Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir, the Potohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and southeast Sindh, while most parts of Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan remained dry.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department, normal rainfall was observed in most parts of the country. However, regions including Parachinar, the Potohar region, Kashmir, and Jiwani experienced below-normal rainfall. In terms of temperature, the country recorded above-normal temperatures ranging from 1 to 4°C, with the exception of Skardu, which experienced below-normal temperatures.

The forecast for the week of November 1st to 7th, 2024, predicts mainly dry weather for most parts of the country, with cold weather expected in hilly areas during nighttime. Smog is likely to persist in northeast Punjab during morning and night hours. Additionally, moisture stress conditions may develop in the already stressed areas of Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan.
