Reliable Data Seen as Key to Agricultural Transformation, Minister Says

Islamabad: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal announced that the results of the seventh agricultural census will be available by August. He underscored the importance of using accurate data to drive policy-making aimed at transforming the agricultural sector.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Iqbal, speaking at an event focused on the agricultural census, commended the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics for its role in conducting the census following the successful completion of the digital population census. He also expressed gratitude to the provincial administrations for their manpower contributions to the initiative.

The minister highlighted that the country is beginning a new developmental phase with the start of the New Year. He noted the recent launch of the five-year national economic plan, Uraan Pakistan, by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, as a step towards achieving economic growth and addressing issues such as backwardness, poverty, and unemployment.
