Romina Urges Business Community to Adopt Eco-Friendly Practices

Islamabad: Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change, Romina Khurshid Alam has urged the business community to adopt environmentally responsible practices and support Pakistan’s national climate goals. She was speaking during a meeting with a two-member delegation of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

According to Radio Pakistan, Romina Khurshid Alam highlighted that the government is committed to addressing the climate crisis through comprehensive policies focused on reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable development across industries. She emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and the business sector in achieving these objectives.

Romina Khurshid encouraged the industrial sector to consider how the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism policy could be incorporated into local industries to mitigate their environmental impact. This policy aims to encourage cleaner industrial practices by imposing tariffs on carbon-intensive imports, thereby promoting a shift towards more sustainable production methods.
