Security Forces Foil Attack in Bannu District, Six Militants Killed

Bannu: Security forces successfully thwarted a militant attack in the MaliKhel area of Bannu District, killing six assailants, The attempted assault on a Joint Check Post was repelled by troops, leading the attackers to detonate an explosive-laden vehicle against the perimeter wall of the post.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the suicide blast resulted in the collapse of a portion of the perimeter wall and caused collateral damage to the surrounding infrastructure. The explosion led to the deaths of twelve personnel, comprising ten soldiers from the security forces and two from the Frontier Constabulary.

The ISPR indicated that a sanitization operation is currently underway in the area, with assurances that those responsible for the attack will face justice. In its statement, the ISPR reiterated the commitment of security forces and law enforcement agencies to eradicating terrorism, emphasizing that the sacrifices of the fallen will bolster their resolve.
